How many weeks in a year?
Weeks in a year calculation
While weeks do not have names like days and month, the numbers 4, 7, and 52 are well known in the week’s corner. There is an average of four weeks in a month. Also, a week is made up of seven days. And fifty-two is the figure that shows how many weeks there are in a year. However, there are few exceptional cases such as 2020 when the number 52 is actually 53.
To rightly calculate the number of weeks in a month, one must steer off using the months as a determinant. The reason is that there are different numbers of days in a month. For example, February has 28 days and sometimes 29 (in a leap year) while July has 31 days. But using the number of days in a year makes the process a lot easier. There can be only 365 days in a (common calendar) year. While a leap year gets a day to leap to 366 days. Hence, a common calendar year has (365/6) 52 weeks and 1 day. And a leap year has (366/7) 52 weeks and 2 days.
As a final point, a lot can happen in a year. Now that it has been clearly divided into 52 weeks, one can easily chew through the year bit by bit.
